So as all my fellow Angels know, the Downtown area I work in was taken over by protesting persons. These people were utilising their free speech by making it so I couldn’t go to the office. The protesters want rights for immigrants; those here already, and those to come in the future. These same people had the nerve to say that all these businesses were closed down out of support for the movement. So to be fair I will let it be known that we didn’t go into the office purely out of the fact that all the streets were closed, and I do not support any march that hijacks a city.

I should add.. I had an amazing day full of photoshoots, cafe’s and record store finds (Including a Wesley Willis greatest hits). I hope that whole movement thing works out for them, because I’m writing down May 1, 2007 as a win in my book.

I love people coming to America, I love the idea of the American dream being something people want and lust over, furthermore I am blessed to be able to live the life that I do (Here is the part where I potentially offend you). However I do have a few suggestions for the cause; respect those of us fortunate enough to have been granted our pass enough to not shut down areas of business on a weekday, fight for your right to be here AND for those same rights in the country you are trying to leave behind as you wish granted here. I say this last part not because I don’t want anyone in the country I was born in but because all countries can be something great, however if all of a countries truly innovative people abandon their homeland their will never be any progress or change.

This world needs leaders, not followers.
