Andy Hull (of one of my favourite bands of the last few years Manchester Orchestra) recently sat down to record a Daytrotter Session. ManchOrch recorded a stellar album called “I’m Like A Virgin Losing A Child” that I couldn’t stop listening to for months. Andy also has a side project called Right Away Great Captain that is quite lovely in it’s own right. Andy was joined by Kevin Devine on the 3 tracks recorded for Daytrotter, and 2 of them are previously unreleased. If you ever get the opportunity to see Manchester Orchestra live, do it, they were a part of the second best live auditory performance I’ve ever attended (which also included Kevin Devine, and Brand New).
You can check out the session over at Daytrotter and for those of you who are fans of Kevin Devine, his Daytrotter Session goes up friday and Andy returns the favour by joining him.
Now here is the part where you feel misled because I was talking about the Cloverfield monster again, you don’t think it’s fair (and it probably isn’t), but you should know I do this constantly in my real life as well. Just ask anyone who is taking pictures during our social outings for some photographic evidence, and you will see by the blurring that is me in the background that I am constantly bringing “Clover” into all aspects of my life. Do not fret fine blog reader, if you listen to the second song “Made Quite An Impressive Noise” and pay careful attention towards the end, this will all make a little more sense.
P.S. Who young or old enjoys having (the) desert?
